Open Bible Baptist Church is a Gospel lighthouse for Elkhart City and Elkhart County, Indiana; and also for our state, our nation, and the world! Our Pastor is Rev. Dale A. Moore and our Assistant Pastor is James L. Leichty. We are serving the downtown, inner-city area of Elkhart; meeting their need for truth (“truth” is Jesus Christ and his word).

The great common denominator among men is religion; all have it and none is without. Our only choice is which to have. Furthermore, that decision is the most fundamental engine that runs a person; no decision is more important.

Is there more than one true religion? As with a sum, there is one right answer; all others are wrong.

29 Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

Psalm 12:6-7, AV 1611

6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

The center point upon which all mankind pivots, is truth. God said he preserved his truth perfectly down to this very day. (Cf. Psa.12:6-7; etc.)

This teaching of perfect preservation is found many times throughout God’s word and emerges clearly as the Bible's own doctrine on the preservation of itself. It is called “The Bible's Doctrine of Scripture Preservation.”

From these many perfect preservation texts, Psalm 12:6-7 has become the recognized “flag” around which the Preservation doctrine rallies. This is because of the remarkable and detailed clarity of that representative text, and because it strikes the “bulls eye” in that doctrine. Therefore, Psalm 12:6-7 is the pathfinder text and so also the anchor reference for the Preservation article of faith.

Having full belief in Psalm 12:6-7 as the basis for believing the Gospel is ground zero for perfect assurance of salvation. If you have incomplete belief in Scripture, its twin brother, doubting salvation, will be stalking you.

Will we accept Scripture in full belief and have its blessings? Or will we stop short of complete belief and not enter its rest? In other words, will we slouch a half-mile behind in half-belief like doubting Thomas; holding onto manuscript mumbo-jumbo, which nobody really understands anyway? Why be sunk in unbelief, grasping onto old and crumbling manuscripts? Live in the flow and newness of life, in the certainty of full belief!

19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
